Guidance Center

Mission Statement

The Mount Sinai Guidance and Counseling Program is designed to prepare students to participate effectively in their current and future educational plans; to help students who exhibit attendance, academic, behavioral or adjustment problems; and to encourage parental involvement.

Instructional counseling and planning objectives are developed with students and their families as an integral component of the preparation of each student’s guidance plan.

Advisory assistance is provided to the students and their families in individual and/or group counseling activities by administrators, certified school psychologists, social workers and counselors. This support is provided to enable students and families to benefit from the curriculum; to help them develop and implement post secondary education and career plans; to help those who demonstrate attendance, academic, behavioral or adjustment problems; and to encourage parental involvement.

We would like to introduce you and your child to Naviance/Family Connection, a web-based academic, college and career planning tool.  As part of our transition plan for all students, we feel it is important to begin the process of “planning for the future.”  This website will enable students and parents to explore the resources that are available through the Naviance/Family Connection program.

Login Information: Students can use their Powerschool User Name but will need to create their own Personal Password. If the student forgets their password they will need to “click” on the reset password link and be directed to their email to create a new password. For any questions please come to the Guidance Office.

You and your child are encouraged to explore the three primary functions of this program; About MeCollege, and Career.  We are excited to offer this resource as you and your child begin the academic, college and career planning process.  If you have any questions about Naviance/Family Connection, please contact the Counseling Center at the high school at 631-870-2870.
